This is how I usually create waves in my hair when I don’t want to use a curling wand or iron. I really haven’t used a curling wand in years (so lazy). This is a faster and easier way to get a similar look. AND! my arms don’t get tired.
I start with clean straight hair (or dirty straight hair if you want). I section my hair in thirds, pin the rest of it up and I start with the bottom first.
I wrap my hair around my straightener away from my face, slightly twisting away while I drag the straightener down to the ends. I try to leave the ends straight (about an inch or two) to make it look a little messy.
Then I let down the 2nd part of my hair and clip the last 1/3 up. I repeat the curls remembering to always curl away from my face. Same goes for the top section.
When I’m done, I end up with ringlets more towards the bottom half of my hair. If I wanted to, I could go back and curl some pieces more towards the root.
Then I’ll run my fingers through the curls to mess it up a little. Spray texturizing spray aimed more at the top section but not really on your roots to give the top portion extra volume. Also give a light spray to the curls to mess it up a little.
I use the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray and a ghd eclipse styler. The straightener I use is old and currently sold out, but there are newer updated options too! I personally like this straightener because it heats up really fast and slides through my hair so easily.
